When a tournament reaches the money, we think prizes should be awarded upon poker play rather than Internet connectivity. So, a player whose Internet Service Provider (ISP) fails near the end of a tournament receives extra time to return to the game and play for the money, instead of being blinded off.
The tournament clock stops during these disconnects, so that extra time doesn't affect the current blind and ante levels. This ensures no one benefits from disconnecting on purpose to force play at a higher level.
The majority of our players view this disposition as fair. The slight delay to conclude the occasional tournament is well worth the protection it gives to all our players.
Visit our Tournament Rules page for more information on our disconnection policies.
